About Me

Hi, I’m Catherine Paton, a Registered Psychologist.

I create a compassionate and collaborative space where children, teens, and young adults feel supported and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Education

Born and raised in Edmonton, I earned my Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biological Sciences and Psychology from the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling from Gonzaga University in Spokane.

After completing my science degree, I took a detour into physical therapy at the University of Alberta, where I realized that my true passion was not just in understanding the physical body, but in understanding the mind.

Clinical Experience

Since becoming a Psychologist, I have experience providing both psychoeducational assessments and treatment, for children, adolescents, and their families.

I have been a valued team member with an Edmonton private practice, where I worked closely with several school divisions to provide consultation and assessment services, supporting student learning, development, and overall well-being. In addition to individual therapy, I have facilitated anxiety and self-esteem groups for children in various Edmonton schools.

Before entering private practice, I built a strong foundation through my work at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Child and Adolescent Intake Services, and the Spruce Grove Children’s Mental Health Clinic.

Outside the Office

When I am not in the office, you can find me running with Poppy, my standard poodle, skiing, gardening, enjoying a cup of coffee, and spending time with my husband and two children.

A thoughtful, personalized approach, grounded in both expertise and warmth.

I have dedicated my career to empowering and supporting the mental health of young people.
